Has anyone tried using an aquarium heat controller with a Heat blanket?
I have looked at the Stanfield Controller but they are $350!!!

I am using a merc vapor bulb and its well above 85 in his basking spot. I use a digital thermo and humidity gauge from a wether station. He does go in the water and I soak him like once a week.
As stated the tank stays at 85 degrees and has basking spots. I was always told less humidity the better. That's why I chose an open enclosure. As far as greens... What should I be feeding and where can I find them during winter? That was my biggest struggle is that krogar does not have that...

im just worried... hes over a year and a half old and is not growing much. he gets fed a lot and just seems to be growing very slowly. he has some growth rings around his shell and its starting to look a bit uneven. is that normal?

i just noticed them today... but i cant say i look in that area often. would anyone recommend putting a small amount of antibiotic cream? im going to head to pet store to grab a different substrate that wont irritate or dirty him up... maybe some bark for a little bit until it clears up????
