Hey folks,

I'll be adding a new member to my family :) I found this little tortoise up for adoption on craigslist in the Detroit Area (I'm in Cleveland). The current owner isn't able to keep him because she knows how demanding the tortoise will be in the future. She says he's about a year old or so. He's been kept in a pin with playsand as a substrate and is a healthy eater. So, I decided to toss her an email. In short: I'll be picking him up on Sunday :)

This isn't the best picture, but it will work for now. Once I get him back to my place, I'll take more pictures and upload them for you to enjoy.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

This ended up not working out . . . picked-up a red-foot instead.

That was the main factor. My partner wasn't too sure of the idea and since we're living together, it's always better to listen to the other half ;)
