In our "Greek tortoises" forum, under "important threads" we have 2 threads:

Antakyan Greek Tortoise and Anamurum Greek Tortoise

containing pictures of those greek subspecies. There are so many kinds of greeks and many members have wondered what kind of greek they have (including myself). So I thought it would be great if we could post pictures of our greeks including a description of the subspecies and sex. The moderators could then move them to the "important threads" area.

What do you all think?

I like this idea. But a caution:

Please take nice, clean and clear pictures with a bland background (not a busy, floral or patterned background). It helps to put your tortoise on a small drinking glass so they can't move. Pictures on a glass are easier to see rather than holding the tortoise in your hand like the pictures in the above-mentioned threads. Get directly overhead of your tortoise so you are looking straight down at him. Let's have a straight down carapace shot, a straight down plastron shot and a silhouette or sideways shot. If the head has anything to do with how the species is I.D.'d then we'll also need a shot of the head.
