My little guy sleeps until I soak him! I did an experiment today, usually he's soaked around 7:30am. I'm home today and waited to see what he'd do. He slept, until I soaked him at 11:30. After his soak he eats, then goes back to sleep. I realize that he's a baby, but should there be more activity on his part?

Whats a normal day for other Leopard hatchlings?

I don't know much about hatchlings, but I'll share some info on my older ones which may help. I have two which like to hide most of the day, only roaming around in the morning and late afternoon. Unless I'm home, I rarely see them moving about. I have one which likes to move a lot and will roam freely most of the day. So I guess I'm saying maybe yours just prefers to hang out for now. I've heard the young ones tend to hide most of the day anyway due to fear of being eaten out in the open in the wild.

As long as he is doing well, eating okay, drinking and pooping, I wouldn't worry much. :)

Sleep, sleep, sleep.....

Infact I have one that was very active and I thought it was great. It ended up being stress and he/she hasnt been gaining weight.

How many months old? if under six, i would except a sleepy baby.. just like a newborn baby

Yep, my baby sleeps all day too. He comes out long enough to eat then goes right back into his hide house unless I make him do a few laps first :)

Thank you! I just needed to be sure it was normal. Now, when he gets outside time (which is not any lately) he roams, eats a ton and has a fine time! I wish our weather would straighten out.

My guy is about 14 months old now. I have noticed as time progressed he is A LOT more active. He was like your baby (if under 6 months old). But once he hit 6-7 months old. I'd see her tromping around his enclosure just about every time I checked.

It's 4x6 ft if you were wondering, so there's a lot of room to move for a little leopard :)
