Our Russian is in his outdoor enclosure 24/7 right now. He has shelter for rain and plenty of shade. I planted a tortoise mix and it is growing like crazy. It's tough for me to tell if he's eating it though. I haven't given him any additional greens in about 2 weeks and he seems perfectly content. Wakes up in the morning naps in the afternoon then up again. Constantly active while he's up....can I assume he's eating?

I do with mine. Not as much as the indoor torts get but I drop extra in every other day. I put it in the grass and clover so they accidentally eat some grass with their greens. They also get every flower that sprouts on my hibiscus and nasturtiums.

Mine always eats a little outdoors, but likes being fed his indoor diet too. Is he still pooping? Might be kind if hard to tell outdoors, but I would assume he's eating a little. Tortoises won't starve themselves :)

I weigh mine once a month just to make sure they are all eating.
