I adopted out a tortoise that needed a home to a forum member. I assumed because it was a forum member it would be a good home. But now I can't get any responses from inquiries on how the Russian tortoise is doing. I don't know what's going on. If the adopter reads this, can you please let me know how things are.

Oh that's sad. :( Something similar to this happened to me to too. It's heartbreaking because you trust someone to take good care of your tortoise, and then suddenly it's out of your hands and there's nothing you can do. :( I hope you get an update soon.

It wasn't actually my tortoise. It belonged to someone I know who wanted to find it a good home. I'm not a Russian tort person so I posted him in the adoption section. I'd still like to know he is well taken care of though.

I wouldn't assume the worst. You never know what people are going through every day that takes them away from their computers and phones and such.
Good luck getting a hold of them!!

I'm trying not to assume the worst. But the computer says this user has logged on at least twice since I sent a pm. So I'm wondering if everything is ok with the tortoise.

Sometimes folks are private....you know what I mean? I would guess that if you felt safe and comfortable in adopting the tort out to the member then you can rest assured the tort is likely aok....:D

I would assume it is ok too. I know for a fact that once a transaction is done, the new keeper has no desire to keep in contact with the old keeper. Happens all the time here at the Rescue. They want to start fresh.
