I have a heated 12x 14 room, that will be my Leo's indoor enclosure room. Besides heat/UVB light do they need a heat mat? They make me nervous with starting a fire.
Peat moss with cypress mulch. Water and food. Some plants/bushes to hide under.
What am I missing?
Thank you in advance, they are 5 and 3 years old.

Heat mats aren't recommended as torts like to dig in and digging through an electric mat isn't great for their health!

It's not recommended to keep torts as a pair either. You always have a dominant tort and the other loses out. This translates into bully and victim and it can get very bloody indeed.

They're loners that don't need, want or particularly like company. They don't want a friend and they'll do whatever it takes to rid themselves of competition for food and territory.

That's good for winter or night time but they need an out door space for warm summer months. They also need humidity or warm humid hide.

Large outdoor pens already to go! Just need some decent temperatures
To let the guys out! Is a humid hide still used for a 3 and 5 year old?
