Thought it would be interesting to hear what folks are doing for record keeping for their aldabras (or any torts).

I started record keeping for my leopards 12 years ago from the day I got them as hatchlings, and I've continued with Uncle Bri (I keep track of size, bathing, supplements, food, & misc, on a nearly daily basis. Clearly excessive, but I'm in a habit now!)

I also found an app called Graphical Analysis that I've been using to chart Uncle Bri's growth. I've started one for actual growth and one to predict his rate of doubling in weight, both with months in the X and pounds in the Y. We all have our thing , I tend to like the data.

Are any of you tracking/charting/keeping records?

Wow, I don't keep any records of my torts. I do have a weight and growth sheet for Tatum, but it's not from the time I got him and it's not updated very often.
So, in non chart terms, how's he doing? Age, weight, lenght? And does he have to climb stairs, that's pretty tricky I'm sure:p:D

Ha, I would love to figure out a tread mill or stair climber! Best I can do are ramps.

He seems to be doing great. He's 13 pounds at 29 months (assuming he was 12 months when I got him). He's 12.5".

He was 1.2 pounds in Sept '13 when I got him. He doubled in weight by Dec '13, then doubled again by May '14, then the math predicted he would double again by Oct '14, and it was off by one week, he's on track to double again by Aug '15. We'll see, but it's been pretty steady so far.

My " book" is a Spiral notebook. I just write in it a few times a month and record weight every 1 st of month.

I thought since my Aldabra will outlive me it would be interesting for the book to follow him/her throughout life.

I suspect in a hundred years or so people will know much more about the exact age of the a fault torts , as many will be raised from hatchlings.

I plan on printing out photos and including an album of them with the book.

Sure, I can send over my growth chart. Are you hand transcribing them to digital? I only have hand written. I can send over photos of my charts?
