Hello everyone, we have a very charismatic male res about 10in. He is peaceful alone but when we put in our adult ybs female, he goes after her. Biting her shell and neck. I figure gus gus is in heat. So should we put her in there and let it play out or its not worth the risk?

Male RES tend to be real jerks. Personally don't like keeping them even with multiple females. I have one outdoors that incessantly goes after three females. Built a new pond to give them a break. If you can, I'd keep them separate always.
