We've got the lime green "sailfin" Basilisks too. But they are not as common and seem to be a lot more secretive.
These common browns don't even make an attempt to flee until you're right up next to them.

It's VOLUNTEER PARK here in Sunrise.
I walk there every morning.
There's no one there.
