I've been wanting to hatch baby cooters for years. Had some bad luck. My older male passed away so I had to raise up a male. He was finally able to breed this year and it looks like most of the eggs are fertile and possibly hatching this week. In the past I hatched a baby, it escaped in the yard. Then I missed a nest. The babies hatched in the ground. All the eggs were bad except for one baby I found in the pond. I tried to catch it, but when I came back it was gone I could only assume a large catfish or the red ears ate it. Crossing my fingers these guys hatch out this week.

I had one for 15 years....most beautiful turtle in the world to me. Even as a kid growing up on the Bay in the late 60's, they were mostly on the Eastern shore so we didn't get to see them often. We caught him in the wetlands on the bayside of Ocean City Md while on vacation. My wife didn't win that discussion<LOL>.
Good luck with that!

Anyone else, "I know the crime that I did now Principal Victoria"....yeah, we no longer take.....showing with proper care & feeding, even old dogs can learn.
