Please can anyone tell me the approx age of the rescued tortoise I have just got, he , I’m told is a Russian and he is 5 inches in length

There's no way to tell for sure. He/she looks almost full grown. I'd guess at least 5+ years.

I would say even 10+ years. However, you can't know for sure.
