I just bought Pro T5 12% uvb kit, how high should I place it in my tortoises enclosure? Thanks in advance

It would be 12 to 16 inches for a REPTISUN 10.0.
My theory for an Arcadia 12% would be 20".
These are for uvb NOT passing through a screen top. And are guesses based on my limited research with some T5 Reptisun tubes.
Passing through a screen top will reduce that by around 40%.

I agree with everything @ZEROPILOT just said. I run several of those bulbs and usually 18-20 inches is about right, but we are all just guessing. You need to put a Solarmeter 6.5 under there to know.

Also, I would not run it for 12 hours a day. It only needs to run for 2-3 hours mid day. You can run it longer if you want, but nowhere in the world does the sun produce levels of UV that high for 12 hours a day. Using it 2-3 hours a day, it will last for 3-4 years before needing replacement, instead of the every 6-12 months that is often recommended. Your meter will confirm when you need to replace your UV tube, or not, thereby saving you lots of money over time.
