Hello all!

I just need your inputs. Which type of tortoise is most active and personable? And some example would be nice. Thanks!

Boy is this a loaded question. My personal favorites are RFs and Burmese Black Mountain tortoise. They both are very responsive and watch everything I do when around their enclosure.

What kind of space do you have? Set up? $$?
Sulcatas are great, but get very large, Russians are very personable.. as are many others...

I keep my sulcatas and leopards together and seem to get along fine. However, when it comes to feeding time, around morning sunshine, they walk aroung like mad, especially the sulcatas, fast and furious! :) If they get to close while eating, especially when one nips on another's piece, it would bite the theft one, more like a nippy-bite as if it was saying to the thief, "Hey!". Another behavior I saw was when one of the them flipped up-side-down, some would come, out of curiosity, and sniff and turn away, some try to climb over, and at times one would come and rubbed it's back against the flipped one as if helping him to flipp over. Sounds like 'The Good Samaritan' story in action! :D I don't know if you guys saw anything like that. Maybe I have too many babies, but it's quite interesting watching them.

Do you always house the different species together? It has been suggested that is not such a wise idea, as what may be okay for one tortie may make another sickly..?

Just an observation ~ bestest wishes to all of your babies!

I have Greeks and love them to death but my DT are more personalble they come running when they hear my voice. Sometimes they just watch me as I clean around their pen. My Greeks pretty much ignore me. But they were WC and the DT were CB- and are my fosters.
