Hey everyone... Im panicking a little bit so i apologize if there is a similar thread that covers this issue.
I just had 1 California desert tortoise hatch from a clutch of 10 eggs (yes only 1 hatched so far ) It hatched a little more than a day ago and it still has not really eaten anything substantial. I have tried lettuce spinach a number of flowers from the back yard and a few other things. The little guy really hast done anything aside from nibble on a few of the mentioned items.
Im really looking for confirmation or personal experience regarding this. How quickly should he be looking to eat and WHAT are the best options for him at this stage. Also any input on how much or how often would be great.
Also is there any hope for the other eggs? this guy hatched on day 111 and seemed to be healthy and fine. When should i give up on the others?
Thanks in advance
here is a picture of him right after he hatched
