HELP! I was discussing mineral oil on another forum but mistakenly I fed baby oil to my tortoise. It was not until after I fed it to him I realized it was "poisonous". Is there a medication I can give to him without going to the vet?

Exactly what type of baby oil was it? What makes it poisonous? Baby oil is mineral oil, just have to make sure it doesn't have other things also.

I wouldn't have thought that baby oil would be allowed to have anything poisonous in it,because of the possibility that a baby might accidentally get some in its mouth,so it is probably ok. I'm no expert, though.

I see that Baby Oil contains mineral oil, isopropyl palmitate and perfume.
First two have similar toxicity test ratings. Can't say anything about perfume, though.

So, I would carefully say that nothing really bad should happen from one-time feeding.

Respiratory issues are likely when mineral oil is inhaled.

Ok thank you but My tortoise is having a lack of appetite. Is there anything I can do for that.
I suppose, mineral oil was used to help with constipation. If it has not pooped yet - appetite may be weak. Also, while Baby Oil components are not highly toxic, they still can cause some side effects like irritation etc.

You can soak your tortoise in lukewarm water and let it to do some exercise (trying to climb out). This will help to move things moving through intestines.

As it was rightfully asked above: what was the reason to give mineral oil? Constipation, foreign body ingestion or other reasons?

I would just soak it a lot and give it some greens with a high water content.

It had not pooped or peed/urated for about 2 weeks. It did not eat anything sharp, thank you for your help!
Is Pistachio straining to poop or pee? Does it try to? What happened first: it stopped eating or pooping?
It's possible that tortoise is going to brumate - stops eating, becoming less active.

If it's constipated it can't eat. Are you soaking your tortoise up to bottom of it's shell in warm water 3 times a week? They absorb water through cloacha so it helps moves bowels. Mine poop after soaks
