Our baby was bitten on the neck by our beardy he shared a cage with. I found him on his back and it was clear he had lost a lot of blood. We cleaned him up and put him in a seperate space with a heat lamp to recover. We have been soaking twice a day for hydration and checking on him constantly. He's not eating and keeps his little eyes close. He will move his little feet, but doesn't get up to walk. My husband thinks it's going to take a while for him to recover as he was so close to dieing. Does anyone have any advice or have gone through a similar situation with your tortoise? We have an exotic animal vet, but it's quite a ways away from our house and we didn't want to stress him out taking him.

What species is the tortoise?
How is it housed? Enclosure pictures would be helpful.
What are your temperatures like all over? Ie basking temp(directly under the bulb), overall day temps(middle and cooler side), night temps?
What kind of basking bulb is being used specifically? Packaging photos are good if you have any
Do you use indoor uv? If so what kind?
How’s humidity?

Please never cohabitate your bearded dragon with your tortoise! That was an absolute disaster waiting to happen, you’re lucky the baby is still alive😭a bearded dragon and a baby tortoise have very different environmental needs too.

Do you have a photo of the injury?

Baby tortoises don't have a lot of blood. If you saw bleeding chances are he's lost too much blood to survive.

Stressful as it may be, I don't think you have much to lose by taking him to the exotic vet.
If you decide against doing this, just keep him warm, hydrated, quiet and alone and hope for the best.
