basil, etc for Hermann?

Hi - since my fresh started seedlings for my little Hermann tort Bubble will take a while to grow - how about Basil, Chives, Parsley and co? And fresh grown grass from normal grass seeds, indoors?
And how about fresh cabbage leaves from my back yard?
And cucumber leaves and Dill?
Does that work?
