I've got a 75 for my hatchling and was curiouser what basking UVB bulb everyone would recommend and at what wattage? The fixture will be approx. 18" from the substrate. I also have a CHE on a thermostat in there. I know it's a matter of opinion, but that's what I want is to hear your opinions! So go!

Depends on your species. My bulb is about ten inches from the substrate and I use a 60 watt.

Incandescent does not give out UVB. Also, the mvb gives the most UVB of any of them.

Oh yeah, sorry. I didn't notice the UV basking part. I use an incandescent for basking then a tube light for UV. Disregard my posts.

Again, I still have to go with the mvb. It has the most UVB then any other bulb. I don't know at what height it can go, but it sure will be able to go higher then any other. The power sun seems to be the most expensive, but also seems to have less problems then the others.

I have used SolarGlo, but two have already burned out. Replaced with PowerSun 100w. Now, other than the 24" fluorescent UV tubes for other enclosures, I won't buy any other.

I also won't pay more than $45 for one, just keep hunting on Amazon and eBay.

I recently found out about the Exo Terra metal halide SunRay. You have to buy the ballast but the bulbs are much cheaper and have a 2 year guarantee. I bought the 50w for $150 but you might want the 70w for $200, then the bulbs are only $30. Much more UVB for a longer about of time, adjustable, and safer on the eyes. Check them out here: http://www.joshsfrogs.com/exo-terra-sunray-fixture-with-ballast-bulb-75-watt.html
