I have read many contradicting views.

How long should the basking/uvb lamp be on for my spur thigh?

Can it be turned off if she is sleeping in her “bed room” area?

Also how heavy should a 1 year old be?

Thank you

12 hours during the day no lights on at night.
They need to bask when they need too, in order to properly digest their food.
If you had a seperate fluorescent uvb and a basking bulb then the uvb could be turned off after a few hours a day. However, to keep them from hibernating their enclosure needs to be bright for 12 hours.
