Best soil for seeds

So I realized that most potting soil has perlite in it. I ended up getting Recipe 420 potting soil. It is all organic, but it has some pumice in it. What I am trying to do it to have several small flats of weeds and things to grow for food that I can place in my hermann's enclosure. Then rotate them out when he is done, so there is always one growing. Is it ok if it has a small amount of pumice just to plant the weeds? If not, what do you guys suggest? His enclosure is also planted with things to eat.

I would use plain dirt or I use coconut coir.

Thanks. I will get some of the coconut coir and just feed the weeds from this as cuttings. Next time I'll plant with the coconut. Thanks.
