Are there any good care guide books for mountain tortoises out there? If not have any of you experts considered writing one?

There is nothing that's current.

I wonder if it would be helpful for new owners of mountain tortoises is an expert created a thread on their care. There is a lot of great information on here , but it requires a lot of searching through multiple threads. Maybe it could help a lot of owners if someone made a thread covering. Hatchling, juvenile, adult, and tips for breeding.
Hatchling- temperatures, humidity, enclosure size , substrates , etc.
Juvenile- same as above.
And so on.
And a list of diet items and safe and diet items that should be avoided. Plants for enclosures.
I know all this has probably been covered. I personally like when all the information is right there in front of me. Just a thought.

Well you could certainly make your own.
Layout your list of questions in a binder as you've done in this post.
Comb the threads and posts looking for the required information.
Add this information to your questions as answers.
Submit it for other keepers for review and clarification.
Clean it all up so it's clear for you.
Label it. Store it and you'll have it complete.
Just a thought. Yes it'll require leg work on your part, but on the other-hand, you can be contributing to the overall help of this wonderful specie for all of us here on The Tortoise Forum.

This is what I do for myself. I set it up on my computer and constantly make updates. Then, since it's on the computer, it's easy to make changes and updates. Ultimately I print and study, testing myself against my recorded information.
