Hi everyone! I’m a new box turtle owner. I’ve had Sammie for about 2 months now! In the past week, he’s been burrowing in his substrate to sleep and isn’t moving around as much. He’s usually pretty active climbing and trampling his enclosure, and I feel like he’s been acting a little odd.
Any suggestions? Is this normal behavior? His temp/humidity hasn’t changed and he’s indoors.

It's most likely that the the season is changing and he senses it.

Thanks for the insight everyone. Yes, he’s an eastern box. Will he try to hibernate even though he’s indoors? The adoption agency I got him from told me not to hibernate him because he’s had issues in the past.
