Box turtle type

So i received a rescue from a girl who works at petco. She asked me to take him in, I know he is a box turtle I was just wondering which type of box turtle. Any ideas? I know he is male since he has the red eyes. He is mostly a whitish/yelllow in color and has black around his mouth that looks like stitches. The underneath of him is all black.

So pretty! You've figured out now that he's an Eastern, but you should just double check the part about being male. While the red eyes usually indicate that it's a male, it is possible for a female to have red eyes.

Wow! What a beautiful animal! I wish I could luck into some rescues like that. I love all my rescues but they are either babies or poorly kept adults with painted shells and they are almost always three toed hybrids. I never see pretty guys like that one.
