Maybe this has been addressed in the past, but I'm surprised we don't have a section for breeder reviews. Just a place where people can say " I bought such and such from what's his face and it was really a great experience. Very fair price and such and such is sooo healthy and cute..." or if they've had someone/someplace that has sent some half dead tort they can note that as well and note how the site/breeder took care of the situation. If we're happy with a breeder I'd love it if we had somewhere we could say it. If we're not then I'd sure appreciate learning from the experiences of others.

I know that it would probably turn into great free publicity for breeders who are on the forum as well. It seems like from the forum breeders I'm familiar with nobody has had any complaints and can only say the best things (I bet you'd be hard pressed to find someone who would complain about a tort they got from Redfoot Nerd for instance, they are just too healthy and beautiful). But for those who don't care about their torts and aren't reputable it'd be great for us to know the risks before we buy a sick/mistreated tort.

Has this been brought up before? Possible problems I see that could arise from this subforum include that people may be unreasonably harsh, but I feel like the forum would be able to figure that out and would ask for proof before jumping on the bandwagon.

This has come up a couple times. So long as people are willing to provide real proof of the transaction with their review, I don't have any problem adding this section.

So would they need to provide a picture of the receipt with the personal information blurred or cropped out? I think it could be a useful section.

How long do you think it'll take until someone gets emotional in there and bashes an otherwise good breeder because of something they don't agree with? Clock is ticking. My prediction: within the first 20 posts in that forum LOL.

Well, its a closed thread, so the posts have to be entered by a moderator. I would hope that moderators would be able to determine whether or not emotions and bashing is occurring. Personally, I'm not looking forward to having to moderate this thread. I'm going to have to go to those other forums where they have this service and study how they work it.

Also, I would think that the "bashee" would be able to send a response with proof to the moderators and get his/her side of the story posted too.

I'm just teasing... I've just seen how it has traditionally worked in the past (bashing prematurely). If I were a moderator, I'd be running far far from this one!

You're welcome. I'm glad others think it would be good as well.

I agree that this could get out of hand pretty quickly. I hope it doesn't but if it does then I'd be fine with scrapping it. The moderators really shouldn't have to become overly stressed about this subforum should it turn into a big bash fest. Hopefully people will be able to provide proof of their claims and if they don't that members will ask them for proof before jumping on the bandwagon.

I agree, it's a good thing when everything is accurate and honest. I'm getting harassed today from another forum because my site apparently makes me seem insensitive to the tortoises because the shopping cart calls them "items" or "products." I just can't ever win, I guess.

Tyler that is really funny, maybe you could get the Shopping cart to call them Little Angels or Darlings LOL

it should still be active... Try it again. What is the error you receive?
