Brumation

As advised my tortoise is being prepared for his first brumation. He is 10 days into fasting and I am getting ready to cut back on heating on Wednesday for 2 weeks. However, he has become more active this last week. Most of the summer he has lain under his lamp unless he is eating. Now he stretches out under his lamp and then trots off, climbing over anything in his way. I expected him to become less active not more. Any suggestions?

That is not abnormal. I would continue on.
