Here in central California it has gotten nice and warm, mid 70s, 50s at night. Should I get our two DT out of their boxes to soak and wake up?

Check your 10 day forecast. Does it look like the warm weather will hold? Do you have the means to control the temperature in the night shelter if the weather doesn't hold?

I hunt in Bakersfield during falconry season, so I'm constantly watching the weather there. I hate that winter fog!!! My inclination would be to wait until March. Its warm for a few days right now, but cooling again after that and randomly over cast which prevents the tortoise from warming up during the day.

We're having the same issues in the UK and I am still aiming to get Jacky out in March.

Same weather conditions here in Tucson moving into the first week of March, I started increasing my girl's temps in her frig last week to prep her for the move outside this weekend, but we have a night box she will go into that I can turn lights on to keep her warm if the weather changes.I am super excited to see her! She's been brumating for 15weeks so far! Miss her!

Thank you, Tom. I was thinking it would be better to wait, as you suggested. The forecast looks like it will stay in the 70s out as far as it goes but it’s very hard to believe this time of year. I will wait.

Also in Arizona Phoenix area and all 5 of my Russian tortoises woke up this week and came out of their hide out where they naturally hibernated all Winter outside in their enclosure. They were very hungry and also went into their shallow water dish to soak all on their own! They have weeds and lots of clover in their enclosure but I also gave them some romaine today for moisture!

My friend's DT came out last week, earliest ever. They live in Long Beach near the ocean. Crazy.

My DT is usually end of April or early May so he's still in the box in the storage garage.

Mr. T and Trudy are still in their brumation boxes. It is going to be in the 80s possibly in a week. I will get them out then. I am anxious to see and interact with them. I will be putting fences up this week to keep them separated but still have nice areas to roam and eat the Bermuda between as wanted.

Weather is going off the rails this week in socal. Lows in the 70's. The nightly lows are more important.

Eazy is still out of it but did give me the stink eye when I checked on him last week.

I have 10 years of brumation beg/end dates and April 11th was the earliest. Probably crush that date this year.

Tortoise Town and his dog house are set and waiting.

In the 90s! I got Mr T and Trudy out of their brumation boxes. Gave them each a good soak, some romaine and they were eating Bermuda grass. Mr T is still coming out of his house to sun and eat. Trudy ate good and went into her hole she dug last year and, I guess, went back to sleep. It’s way too early for spring!
