Hello, My husband is at a friends house right now working and he noticed these cactus. Are these okay for my Leopard to eat?

Thank you I just wanted to make sure before I have him bring some home. How do I feed it to him? Does he only eat the inside or does he eat it all?

Also can I freeze some of the pads so they last longer?

I would scrub the needles off with one of those green pads, and chop it up into an appropriate size.

Because the outer skin is so tough, I use the potato peeler and peel them, then slice into lengths for the babies to eat.

What I do if I have a big pad and will only be using a little at a time for a small tortoise, is cut a little from top end and then cut a narrow strip put a cut edge down and then cut that in half, now you have two halves with a cut side and a skin side, then I cut it in bite size pieces to fit the size the tortoise can eat, some are really small. the rest of the pad is left with spines and with skin until it is time to feed again, then cut another small strip. This way the pad will last almost forever and you can even save some of the pad to plant.----I hope this makes sense,--- If you clean and cut up the whole pad it's shelf life is shortened and might go bad before the tortoise can eat it all.
