Hi

How often am I supposed to put the rep-cal calcium powder for a baby Hermanns? and what quantity each time?

Also, should I have the power AND the cuttlebone?

Does it have vitamins or is it pure calcium? I've read it somewhere that technically you can't overdose calcium, so I would say however you feel like it, although I've never tried it since my calcium powder has potentially overdosable vitamins in it.

I think its ok to use calcium without D as much as possible but you do need to limit the stuff with D3 in it. (you can over dose the D)
I use limestone flour sometimes as my non D powder and always leave cuttle fish bones in the pens too-the red foots and hinges destroy them quite quickly even though they get added calcium daily-I guess they know what they need.

I use some calcium with vit D in Winter as my torts are indoors for many months.
This seems to be working well so far
I think my hermanns would use them too if they were bigger-some folks leave a little tub of non- D calcium in the pens so they can help themselves-I may try that myself for the youngsters and see if they take it or not.
