Looks like either a baby leopard or a baby sulcata.

Won't you take a few moments to start a new thread in the "introductions" section and tell us a bit about yourself?

Could it be a leo x sulcata mix? I usually don't see spots on sulcata scutes.

That's why I said either a leopard or a sulcata. Looks a bit like both or either. I was wondering if it was like you say.

That baby has the spots of a leopard tortoise, but its shell is so lightly-colored and compressed in shape, I'm thinking it's a so-called "lepracutta," which is a hybrid of the leopard tortoise and the sulcata.

I still think its just a light colored sulcata, are far as the spots on the scutes, all of mine have had them. you can see it on my smaller one's but once they get big then it's not noticable.

Jacob has a light colored sulcata like this one.

Its also not a protected species here in the states.
