I've been researching about getting a tortoise for a couple of months now and I've had my mind set on the small mediterranean species. It's between a Russian and a Hermann's. However, I'm still uncertain of what type of adult enclosure to get them. I understand that an adult enclosure should be at least 8x4ft. With Russian Tortoises, I love the idea of combining multiple rubbermaids for them since it's cheap (I don't mind that it isn't aesthetically pleasing) and allows me to be creative.

I was wondering if it's possible to combine multiple rubbermaids for another species like a Hermann's? Or is it only practical for RTs because they're smaller?

I don’t see why not you could make it as big as needed. I do wonder if I’d hold heat and humidity well as sealing them together would seem hard.
