I was looking to see if anyone else has a cherryhead tortoise who lives in the metro detroit or southeast michigan area. this summer we can get them together for socialization, or maybe breeding in 5 yrs.
I doubt you'll be able to find someone to do what you have in mind. We don't really think its a good idea to put two tortoises together unless there's been a quarantine period. I would think a minimum quarantine would be a month, and that's with vet checks and fecal tests. I usually quarantine for 3 months before adding new tortoises to an existing group.
Besides, reptiles in generally really don't socialize much. While I think red-footeds and all their variations do better in small herds, I doubt you would see any benefit to short-term situations like this, especially when you factor in the stress of transport.
