We have a Chinese plum fruit tree that gives us a lot of Chinese plums each year -- think the proper name is "Prunus Mume". Is the fruit ok for torts to eat?

Depends upon what species of tortoise. Most tortoises are not supposed to have fruit.
sulcata - just want to make sure it wouldn't be lethal
