When washing out the tortoise food and water bowls is it ok to wash with fairy liquid or to use a disinfectant on them?

We have always used a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water , it kills bacteria and is harmless to animals . Just wash in hot water and sanitize with the vinegar mixture . We have a dog 3 parrots and a Sully this is all we use ! ;)

Ditto soap and hot water. Don't forget how they would eat in the wild.

Hello Johnny

+1 on the vinegar and water. I think it cleans better than most soaps.

We have "hard" water (heavy on minerals, calcium) in my neighborhood, so whenever we mist enclosure, it leaves deposit on the glass.... a little vinegar scrub takes it right off. We use purified (Brita) for their soaks and drinking dish.

I just rinse the bowls under running water. I never use soap or vinegar.
