So, I’ve just bought some coco coir substrate for my hermann and I was wondering how often I would have to put new stuff in and clean the enclosure? I’ve heard it’s okay to do it monthly?

You should spot clean daily any left over food and poop. Then stir up the substrate about once a week. If you do this, your substrate doesn't have to be changed out for 6 months to a year or more.
