Cleaning Sheldon's bottom

Sheldon hates it when i clean his butt or around it and I'm pretty sure other tortoises hate it too but does anyone know how to calm him down when I'm doing it so he doesn't go so crazy? I almost feel bad when I'm doing but it has to be done because his substrate will get stuck under and around his little legs and stuff. Any tips will help! Thanks

Let him soak in warm water for about 15 minutes then the 'stuff' isn't stuck so bad and comes off easily.

(And just remember, you're the boss, not him)

Oh yeah i do soak him in warm water before i scrub him but next time I'll make sure i soak him longer and yeah i know im the boss but it makes me scared to see him kick his small little legs haha thanks so much!
