Cleaning taxidermy

I've inherited 2 antique sea turtles, and was wondering the best method of cleaning and polishing them for display.

What would be the best method for cleaning and restoring a taxidermied turtle.

I have no idea. We deal in live torts and turtles here. You need a taxadermy forum I think.

Prepping fossils, I could help, but I'm afraid I don't know of any taxidermists on the forum.

You may want to contact US Fish & Wildlife as some shells are illegal to own, depending on if they were mounted/imported before CITES .

If owning sea turtles or any part thereof is like owning ivory, it is against the law. You should find out before you invest any time or money into it.
