I’m so glad you both are ok!
What a brat!
To be illegally riding those things on the walkway….
People now a days are sooooo self absorbed that they don’t even think they could possibly hurt someone !!!!!
He should have had his scooter thing taken away for a month as punishment. Maybe next time he would “think” before he drove!
Riding along the path with headphones on listening to music clearly not concentrating! Supposed to have a driving licence I believe as meant to be on the road but didn’t look old enough….
Quote:
To ride a Voi e-scooter legally and safely, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid full or provisional driving licence. You must ride on roads, cycle lanes, or shared-use paths, and always obey the Highway Code. Pavement riding and drinking and scooting are strictly prohibited.

They are still under trial in our town which keeps getting extended. Used properly they are very useful. Unfortunately they get discarded all over the place ready for collection overnight. It’s a weird arrangement!

Good afternoon tortoises!

We've had a busy few days and both of us have been out however I have also been working inside. We had a plumber come to fix the taps in the basin on Tuesday so after my unwanted drowning session I took the opportunity to inspect his work and I was very satisfied. I also decided to inspect behind the toilet but Natrah fell about laughing!

Dear Sue,

I'm afraid that I shouted at cyclist in Rayleigh this afternoon who was weaving in between pedestrians on the pavement at a tremendous speed. I'm afraid I called a stupid twit and some other people had words as well.

Dear Natrah and all- it has been pretty hot this afternoon, but Zola hadn't been out for a few days, as previously the weather has been very mixed, so Richard decided to take him to the breakwater today. He was really happy, and just never wants to stop - he met some Dutch people, and of course he was hatched in Holland, so they were delighted to see him. (In case anyone wonders why Zola came from Holland, it's because the government had only just made it legal to buy young tortoises in the UK -so no-one was breeding them here, and they had to be imported.) Anyway, we are so very very lucky to have met our little boy when we did - we are convinced that he was meant for us, somehow !
Love to everyone from Angie xxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

Jacky is enjoying some evening sunshine before bed but she does say goodnight. It's been a hot day here and I met some friends in Rayleigh. On the way I took a photo of the Dutch Cottage and on the train back IMG20260620135257.jpgI passed some fields with newborn foals in❤️🐴.

Better bring Jacky in.

Goodnight everyone

Dear Angie,

Our posts have crossed and what a coincidence because you met some Dutch people and I posted a photo of a Dutch Cottage!

Goodnight

Dear Chef - yesterday was the summer solstice celebration at Stonehenge - over 20000 people turned up to join in this celebration - many of them dressed up as druids (ancient priests) - and in other special clothes. I've never been there at this time - far too many people - but it must be quite an experience ! It's great that people still care about these very old traditions.

Good evening everyone!

We've had a rather wonderful Father's Day and we hope you all have as well. Zola did you go out with your dad? Jacky has been enjoying the weather alongwith strawberries and I have been enjoying butterflies. First of all I saw my first Small Skipper behind the flat and then I had lunch on the cliffs which were awash with butterflies namely Large Whites, Small Whites and best of all Marbled Whites. It goes to show that it is worth letting some areas go a bit wild and to top it all I could hear the call of a Wren. Yes I sat in the sun but I had my hat and suncream on my vitiligo but it was worth it ❤️.

I put some roses in a vase for which he would have loved.

Goodnight everyone

Another sunny day today, so Zola went on the breakwater again. There were quite a few people around, and his dad impressed a Lithuanian family by knowing their word for "tortoise" and then the same thing happened again with a Samoan family - Richard has a very good memory for words, and I think he gets a lot of pleasure from doing this - and it makes the people involved feel welcomed, in a way!
We didn't celebrate Father's day -but are hoping to go to Torquiay for Zola's birthday in July.
Love to all from Angie and Zola xxxxxxxxx

We were expecting the weather to be fairly unpleasant, but not the really fierce thunderstorm we had in the afternoon ! The morning wasn't too bad, and when we took Zola to look at the sea it was quite sunny. Richard showed Zola to the young couple who were parked next to us - it turned out that they were Russian
- and they were delighted to meet him -especially when Richard said "chiri -pa-ha", which is Russian for tortoise. Then the lady held out the back of her hand, on which she had a tattoo of a tortoise, and managed to explain that she called her husband a turtle as a pet name ! They were really nice, and were also pleased when Richard called out "Goodbye" in Russian as we left !
I do hope the weather is better tomorrow,as Zola didn't get much of a walk today, as the stones were really slippery on the breakwater. I have just done my final headache injection in this series, and am expecting a phone call from the hospital, to decide if I should go on with them - I do think they are helpful, but my vision is very muddled with one eye seeing very differently from the other, and that really messes my head about ! I hope I can get the other eye op soon !
Love to all from Angie and the little chiripaha !

Good evening everyone!

Just hearing on the later than usual news that the heatwave is extending until Thursday and your area is under a warning Angie. We were under an amber warning starting from lunchtime today but I am sitting here with the windows open and no fan on. Jacky's thermostat read 21 degrees Celsius outside and her shell felt cool!!! Sue your area looks like it's amber.

I hope you hear about your other eye soon Angie and you seem to be pleased with the injections. Hope Chef is okay as she's been quiet. Hope she's feeling better.

Goodnight everyone

Good evening Dickie, Zola, Edward, Sapphire, Sherman, Tank, Sally and Squirt and Sapphire (@Cathie G),

I forgot to say that Jacky tried to do a handstand in the garden again today.

Been 25 indoors with the fan on, my hair is permanently wet!
We had a mini thunderstorm about 8pm which watered the garden for about half an hour. I’m dreading the rest of the week as it will be getting too hot for me. I’ve already cancelled my cleaning job on Wednesday, I get hot doing that normally so I won’t cope in this heat plus lack of sleep.
Dickie stays in the shadier parts of the garden once she’s warmed up. She goes to bed about 5pm. I reckon she was tired as she barely got through the door before stopping & that’s where she stayed. We’ve propped the lid up on her house to gjve her some air as we do have to shut the door so wandering hedgehogs don’t go in.
Stay cool everyone 🥵
