Good morning and happy January to all.
It's still raining here but the winds are gradually easing and my roof is still there👏 I really must put something more substantial in it's place this spring.
I have a sore throat today and feel as if I'm heading for a cold - I'm going to try to ward it off before it takes hold. So it's going to be a lazy day for me. I hope you all have a peaceful start to year.

Happy New Year guys!

Whew.....THAT was one HELL of a year!

I hope that everyone had a safe night and we all look for the positive in this new year. I have about 100 lbs of fireworks in 2 very large plastic bins on the top shelf in the garage. I LOVE shooting off fireworks but they all stayed put last night. "The Nook" & "fireworks" don't get along well....it's like leaves/trees/animals and fire!

Hope for the year, again
Most of the folks reading this are pretty well off. We eat when we are hungry, that alone puts us ahead of the pack. Every once in a while I dream....If folks can learn to set aside their personal agenda's typically caused by fear or greed, we could have an even better place for even more folks!

Lessons learned;
I learned; There is no "getting back in shape" when you are past 65 by working out, it just beats you up more! Exercise to keep your range of motions but you aren't going to break bricks anytime soon! LOL

I reset the outdoor camera yesterday, I can't wait to pull the card!

My mother in law makes me hot ginger, honey and lemon tea. It works for me.

Nah, not my birthday but you know what comes up when "they" ask for it when we register?

J1

So I lie about that....always! LOL

Flushing illnesses;
The best method I have found and don't call me crazy.....when I feel that tickle in my throat like everyone does as they get sick, I talk to it and tell it to get out.....yup, sounds nuts but I focus on it to leave and have not gotten sick since I was a child. Some days I wake up feeling "sick" and once I focus in on it, it's gone...sometimes nearly instantly, sometimes with a Motrin "assist". I'm sure a lot of folks do the same but don't discuss it. I figure it this way....if strangers here think I'm nuts, that's okay, the folks here that have met me, know I am! LOL

I have damaged my lungs pretty bad...roughly 42% capacity now. I STILL don't get sick....even with covid I tested positive on J1 2023 for about an hour or two if you remember. I believe in the power of the body to do magical stuff if you let it. Some may not....I don't argue about it but it seems to work for me.

Good afternoon /evening all.
It's been a lovely bright but frosty day here. Perfect winter weather but we have warnings of snow across all of the UK for the weekend. I hope it's not as bad as expected, especially for the areas in the north hit by severe flooding on New Year's Eve - that's the last thing they need.

I suppose the shops will have bare shelves by the end of tomorrow with people panic buying. As long as I have plenty of Lola's food here we'll be fine. I can manage on toast if needs be.

I've had quite a nice day today. My throat is better and thankfully it hasn't developed into a cold. I had a nice walk to get some fresh air and blow away the cobwebs. I hope you've all had a pleasant day too.

Meanwhile it's time for bed so nos da and take care.

I agree with you totally even if I get it. I keep waking up every day so far and keep moving at least a little. I have a lot to stay thankful for. According to statistics I shouldn't have survived covid but I'm still alive. I don't kick much though because I don't want my back acting up for a while 😏
