Good evening/afternoon all.
My goodness we're having some heavy rain! It's been pouring down most of the day. The warning has been raised to amber and we've had flood alerts because the river is pretty high. It's not going to ease up until tomorrow afternoon. The wind has been really strong but that seems to be gradually dropping. Hopefully we'll have a few days to dry out this week.
I hope you're all having a peaceful Sunday.

Dear Lyn,

I notice you have a weather warning so stay safe.

Goodnight

Natrah
Yes thanks Natrah. The warning was raised from yellow to amber with flood alerts. I haven't been out but hope it's not going to be that bad. Stay dry!

For free on Roku which comes on many TV's or buy a 20 dollar device, never pay again) or TCL tv....
I have a fire TV and I got Joe a fire stick. With net and Wi-Fi I have too many channels for free. Who has all that time checking through all that to find something I want to watch. Thank God the programs have ads though 😉

We're supposed to have some really warm days. Even up to 60°f the coming week but rain too. Hopefully it won't flood. Some of our back yard tends to. It's right at the flood line so we get some no matter. But I'm wondering. Do you have sayings in the UK like we do? That April showers bring May flowers? Our March is coming in like a lamb so it'll go out like a lion. They call it the windy month also and it tends to be. I've even been given the advice to carry rocks in my pockets it's so windy. Just wondering 😊.

We have quite a few sayings here, but here is some (translated by me):

  • January is steady, but it will swing in February.
  • What February gives way, March pays for.
  • If March doesn't show the earth, April doesn't throw away either.
  • April throws away the snow.
  • April fills the streams.
  • Cows have never been fed on May grass.
There is a ton more, harder to translate.

Good morning Lyn,

It's pretty miserable here.

Hope you're okay

Natrah
Hi Natrah, it's much brighter and drier here today but its still very blustery with occasional heavy showers.
I don't think there was any flooding but the people on the main road put sandbags out just in case. In fact they've been left out and used several times since the storm before Xmas.
I hope it gets better where you are.

We a have proverb that says
'March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers'

March has always been known as a windy month and April as rainy, but with climate change we never know what's coming now.

Our March is coming in like a Lamb so I imagine it'll go out like a lion. My luck it'll be windy and I'll have to put those rocks in my pocket. IF I dare to go out 😉

I have 2 fire sticks and a newer smart TV. I am thinking about having the fire sticks adjusted. To be able to have all moives, sports. Also pay per view for big sports events. It's 25.00 a month but it covers everything. It's good to have a VPN to hide your activities. Is it legal, probably is but the only people getting busted. Are the people who adjust the fire stick for you.

I think most of the sports things I have on the fires are free. I've seen a lot of the special games on free local type channels and I can play the 1/2 time Beyonce show anytime so probably the game too. I don't pay for Netflix and the sports thingy 😉 it'll be free for a year on the plan. I do pay for Disney+ for Joe but Verizon provides that for $10 a month from now on. I have a VPN through Aura. They are more legal than a crook trying to get your info. And if I get hacked they'll be on it.

I maybe watch 10 hours of TV a week. We gave up cable 2 years ago cuz we couldn't justify paying for crap we never watched anyway. We have 3 smart TVs and get hundreds of free channels, and pick up 22 air channels on the antenna. I still pay for Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+ and Amazon for some reason. Not sure why. I guess I like X-Files on Hulu, and Star Trek on Paramount. No idea why I still pay for Netflix and Amazon though.
