Good afternoon/morning all. It's a cloudy day and looks as if it's threatening to rain, but very warm so maybe a thunderstorm is on the way although not in the forecast.

My caterpillars have all left the tree and headed for the soil where they will pupate. I found one of them on the grass this morning and thought he had fallen so I carefully put him back, then I noticed that others were crawling down the trunk or just dropping out of the tree and heading to the long grass and weedy bits of Lola's area, so I put him back on the grass so he could follow his mates. Apparently they aren't due to do
this for another few weeks so they are starting early. I hope they all survive. 🤞🙏 - I've grown quite attached to them.

Otherwise a quiet day apart from what I think was a scam doorstep caller who wanted to see my phone to check its internet speed - not on your nelly! I've contacted BT to report it.
You can't be too careful these days.
Dear Lyn,

Not long before you see beautiful moths. I am currently watching a programme on BBC1 about Portmeirion where the 1960s TV series 'The Prisoner' was filmed. I'm also remembering the lovely holiday I had there with mum, dad and nana. I remember the many trips we made to Porthmadog for tea as well.

Hi all, Rose and I are still in Michigan. Looks like Ms.Sully and Opo are parents. My lawn care guy found this little one in my driveway. He is going to keep it. Yolk sac is dry and almost gone.

It is a beautiful place. I haven't been there for a long time. North Wales has stunning scenery, whether it's the mountains or coast.

The field fire I saw last Friday was started by two teenagers!

I hope the police prosecute them. A lot of wildfires are started by people and they coordinate them via social media so that the fire service is stretched to the limit. The last one we had here was started by two 15 year old girls. It burnt for many weeks and did so much damage, but all they were given was a warning - not the right message for copy cats!

We have just started watching The Prisoner series, after many years, as we got a set of DVDs second-hand, and are amazed once again at the scenery.

Great series. Those giant bubbles that chased people used to really scare me!
The houses on the site are holiday homes now, I wouldn't mind staying there one day.

I've just realised I missed my 11th anniversary of joining TFO - 22/7/14 when Lola came into my life, and I became a rather reluctant tortoise keeper.
Wouldn't part with him for the world now even though my life changed pretty drastically.

You aren't the only one N....so did I! Lol

Let's see; I had two of 3 sisters have red hair, my mom and grandmom had red hair too, so did grandpa....

& I end up with 2 red haired daughters.

Ya know, they are just a bit different!
We used to watch the head on the youngest spin around 360 degrees when she had a tantrum.
Yep that's how I got em too 😁 it's no wonder I turned up ash blonde 😲

We have been given a orange warning of extreme heat. The criteria is daily maximum temperature +30 to 35 degrees Celsius (85 F to 95 F) and average temperature +24 to 28 degrees Celsius (75.2 F to 82.4 F).
My back yard went up to around 107°f today. It's in full sun most of the day. The front yard probably around 90. We are under an excessive heat warning also. It's 8:30 PM and it's still 84°f out back. And then it'll cool down to probably around 74.

Thanks, it will work out well. He has a large back yard. Hopefully no more will show up. Looks like I will have to be a little more diligent. When Ms.Sully lays eggs. Hopefully Opo and Ms.Sully won't get together again. After one time of mating. The female can stay fertile for about 8 months. So Ms.Sully could still lay fertile eggs.

I can see a really good friendship developing between your two families. Isn't it amazing what tortoises can add to your life?😊
