The bird in the video is a cormorant and the barge is the Gloriana which our late used for her diamond jubilee.
Us fishermen dislike cormorants. For example they have devastated two types of fish in lake Michigan. The perch and the brown trout. The say a cormorant eats 11 times its weight each day. They are a protected bird so you can't get caught shooting them. Since they lay the eggs on the ground. The DNR have been spraying the eggs so the egg won't hatch. If the DNR takes the eggs or destroys them. The bird will lay more eggs.

Good morning/afternoon all.
Tilly has made herself at home and we've had a couple of nice walks. I don't think she was too impressed with me dragging her out in the rain last night, but she had to have a wee before bedtime and I can't let her out in the garden because she would scare the hedgehogs, so we both got wet.
She's used to being let off the lead on walks, but I'm not going to risk it, so she has to stay on her extending lead. She still enjoys herself though.

She spotted Lola yesterday through his gate, and barked at him, but can't get to him so no harm done. Lola is also benefitting from our walks because he ends up with a lovely big bunch of dandies and other weeds from fume free, off-the-beaten-track places where I wouldn't usually walk.
The weather looks good for next week so I'm looking forward to more nice walks with Tilly.
I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. TTFN

I'm surprised they are allowed to do that, if they are protected.
It is an offense here to disturb and destroy nests, eggs and chicks of all birds in the nesting season, but especially if they are protected birds.

The state has them protected. But the birds had multiplied so bad. They had to do something because of the fisheries. I think they keep them protected so the public won't shoot them. But if you are 10 miles out fishing and no boats around things happen
If you notice in my previous post. I said " they are protected so you can't get caught shooting them🤫

Natrah
I believe I watched that on TV but don't remember seeing the boat. I always miss a some of what I watch though because of interruptions. Chores . That's why I love commercials 😂.

Water was chilly but we had a picnic lunch on the beach then of course we had to get soft ice cream!
I just looked a the radar. The tropical storm/hurricane is getting closer to use then predicted. I hope it still turns west away from the coastline.

I think I am going back to a simpler weather forecast than TV where they just want to cause stress......maybe the coconut swinging on a string....

Wet- it's raining
Swinging- windy
Stationary- calm
Gone- hurricane

We all have seen the sign!

I have been researching Yellowstone park for the last couple of years off and on. It's been on most people's bucket list for as long as I can remember. Going there has always been a dream for both Kerry and I.
If not now, when? My body is slowly going on strike so it's time to go if we're going...
next September anyway....lol

You have to book a year out or you won't find a place inside the park at one of the old and overpriced hotels.

We are thinking we will drive to Boulder Co so we can visit the famous Casa Bonita restaurant and the Red Rock theater for the 1st part of our trip. Then I want to take Kerry to Shadow Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park and the Continental divide. Then head North through Jackson Wyoming.

We made reservations at the Old Faithful Inn for 5 days next Sept so we will build the rest of the trip around it.

Now I have to call to cancel a cruise to Alaska we we supposed to go on next June. I wasn't excited about it anyway.

I think: "We chose wisely"

My nephew and his wife who are currently in CA recently did a cruise to Alaska, they've booked another on the same ship for the Mexico area. Not sure when but they have to come home at the end of April so obviously before then. I think they did Yellowstone last year. They've tried to see as much of America as possible while they've been there.

It's interesting what I saw this morning on the news. The tropical storm is drawing the hurricane to go east through itself. So the hurricane will miss the coast and be a storm in the ocean. Hopefully the tropical storm will fizzle out too. Maybe they can just be friends in the ocean. 🤞 And wear each other out. But I've not watched the weather since so...

I think the remnants of that are heading our way. We've been told there will be warnings in place for rain and strong winds in some areas of the UK for the weekend.

Good morning all, it's a lovely autumnal day here and quite warm in the sun.
My car is at the garage so I'm waiting for news on that. Tilly and I enjoyed a lovely walk along the local canal after dropping it off.
I don't let her off the lead when we're out but she would have loved to jump in for a swim.
As you can see in the picture she's imploring me with her eyes to let her. 🥺

I hope you're all having a good day and that storm isn't affecting those of you in the area too much.

Take care
