What a cutie.! Is he in your yard? Florida has some beautiful frogs. My favorite are the little tree frogs. The only time I'm not crazy about them is if they try to land on me. I had several episodes of that when I lived in Florida.🤣 They seem to like me too.
Yes that frog was by the front door. I don't know if all frogs do this. But that type of frog is like a chameleon. You see the color kinda matches the statue he is sitting in.

Beautiful day today! I replaced a left side head gasket on the motorcycle above this afternoon. I want to sell it soon and it was weaping oil. Easy repair.

We were supposed to leave to meet a contractor's Estimator at his office to iron out changes that we made to the decks he priced for us. 2 minutes before we were leaving the guy showed up here and saved us from 1/2 he drive each way. Very cool of them...we have a language barrier so him coming to see my drawings and hand waving clarifications helped a lot actually. Hopefully this will all work out. I REALLY want a whirlpool or hot tub. I miss my old one.

We are going to the bridge tonight to see the supermoon! It rises over the river so maybe we are in for a treat!

Did you go with wood or the other stuff? I would do the other except for the heat factor.

20251006_192733.jpgSuper moon over the Chester river:
It was nice on the waterfront last night but the tides were very high....we have waterfront on 3 sides of our home this morning....LOL

We decided to use #1 pressure treated lumber for the project MS Cathie. I really struggled with the decision. I don't like fake anything....so the trex stuff was a reach for me but when i saw the quality of work available in this area, wood made better sense for us.
Beyond that, reducing the cost of materials may allow us to have the upper deck screened in. That will give us another enclosed space 14x16 but we lose the view out of the sliding rear door so there's the downside.

Kerry is headed to Fla on Thursday for the weekend to see the daughter that got married in May. I'm staying home...WHEW! LOL

I missed the super moon because I slept through the night. I usually wake up long enough to see something like that for at least long enough to say I got to see it. Nope not last night. I can't say I'm truly disappointed. I got a great night's sleep 😴 💤 💤 💤

If you're going to miss it, the good night's sleep was prob well worth it!

Mr Contractor returned his revised price and he did the right thing with the cost of the changes so i immediately wrote back to tell them to proceed. I didn't have any reason to leave him wondering if he had a new job.

I think they are going to build us something far nicer than we have envisioned. Reyes construction LLC in Queenstown MD. They have a Facebook page listing every project. They do nice work.

It's just a shame to destroy these decks...i know they are aged but I'd think someone could use them if they were "haulable".

We began moving everything yesterday but Kerry's Aldi gazeebo....LOL. We will move it to the side while they build.

The new lower deck will extend to the house and the pipes are for rerunning my sprinkler & gas pipe and a separate conduit for my 220v electric to the upper deck for my tub. (Yay jeff)

I LOVE lemon Italian Ice ( what we call it here)!
But N, were you able to see any birds while there?

I also see Mr Stubb from Finland is here chatting in DC 4T....very neat!

Kerry just landed in Florida for a couple days and Humberto the contractor stopped by to do contract stuff so he can start next week.

I'm diving (no pun intended) the world of Hot Tub Sales.....whew....LMAO...It is truly amazing what folks deem "important". I last really saw it when we got Kerry's car this time last year. In the hot tub world "how it feels and looks" matters far more than if it's worth a sh*t and isn't made of the same stuff your trashcan is.

We are getting a 2 person tub. I'm not big on that whole communal bath thing. Maybe it's the scars of the 70's communes?

Oh....took down Matt's outdoor home and fountian and found living goldfish under the basket of rocks and plants. I didn't want to just empty it out so I did this...for Rocky and her kids..

Well since we got home from Michigan in Aug. We have had downpours everyday except maybe 5 days. Our ditches have been full of water for weeks. The ground is saturated with water. If we get a hurricane that dumps lost of rain. We might be in trouble. I am about to have Rose dig up the Gopher tortoise nest very cautiously. I can't tell if they have hatched because the rain alters the surface of the ground. On the other hand, I would not like to disturb the nest.

Dear Jeff,

There is a list of the birds above the photos. I did try and take close ups of the birds but it was very difficult because of the wind. I just want to that the little islands in the pictures were actually full of birds.

I hope you're all okay Ray including the Gophers.
