I forgot to relate something insidious. If you are up for a game, go do a You Tube search for "hot tub reviews" or similar and TRY to find a vid done by private people and not a company or self-proclaimed influencer.
We didn't see hardly any! Are they truly suggesting that in this "Look at me" world, there are no vids by those folks? Or are we being manipulated into 3 brands by only seeing them over and over?

Weird stuff
Dear Jeff,

Is everything okay with your bank now?

We hope so N! We will either be watching contractors in the back yard today or wondering if we got scammed for our local savings account.
We limit what goes in the local bank just for this reason. If it disappeared, it wouldn't be life changing. We only transferred the cost of the work and no more.

Exciting huh? LOL

This is the freedom that not caring about money gives me. I don't ever have to stress over it....Kerry does enough worrying for ALL of us here!

It's been a job just to impress on her that she doesn't need to expend all that energy but it's what she does.

So im really hoping that they show up and do a great job because while losing that much money would suck, having to go find another contractor would be worse!

Lidl is going to have an American style theme this week. I do wonder how accurate it is 🤔 Also, is there ever an American style theme in the Lidls in the US?
Sorry, do not know of Lidls, They are only on the East Coast of the US, None out west where I am....

I don't know what Lidls are because I'm just not technically savvy 😉 I guess. And Kerry is just stressing because she would be mad as heck for losing money to a crooked person!!! and I don't blame her. Why not do it right? Every one prospers.I'm going through something similar for ordering something online pick up in store. It was the wrong car part and I know I ordered the right one. I grew up with mechanics and know how to order the correct car part. Of course it was wrong and to get the right one was more than double the price in store. The store is a major chain. Are they seriously allowing their online presence to be a total fiasco? Yep

Rose ordered a crepe maker. When the item didn't show up. Rose went online to see what was happening. Come to find out it is out of stock. She paid about 20 dollars for it. When looking at the shipping receipt. Walmart had charged her over 70 dollars for the item. She had her original receipt online. She looked at the credit card and Walmart had charged the 70 dollars. She called customer service at Walmart. They said they would reimburse the money for the crepe maker. A few days later the reimbursement was 20 bucks. She called Walmart again and they said they would fix it. After a few days with no corrections. Rose called the credit card company and filed a complaint. It is under investigation right now.

Goodness I didn't know you had Lidls in the US! Marks and Spencers, Tesco's and Sainsbury's are British do you have them as well and how about @The_Four_Toed_Edward in Finland?

Natrah
We don't have them here, but there is one chain that sells some Tesco products, like Tesco's own tea brand.

Just like Aldi's. Does anyone have IKEA? Anyway Edward we will be changing the clocks but is your part of Finland dark all day in the winter? How many hours of sunshine do you get?

Not all day, but there is only a few hours of sunshine. 3 hours and 30 mins at its shortest.

We change clocks next week. We had an IKEA in my home town, no Aldi's here.

3.5 hours of daylight? My friends, we would be able to count in days how long I would last before offing myself! LOL

I see a lot of folks stressing over the accumulation of money and I just don't. It's hard to say that w/ sounding like a preeminent azzho but that's not where it comes from in me.

Money stress;

I am not rich or wealthy at all. I'm sure quite a few folks here made a ton more money than I did over my life. I'm happy for them. I've watched people get more angry about money than anything else my entire life. Even more than love or sex which I find kinda sad. Their priorities seem skewed.

Many folks will screw over anyone to gain wealth while others will use it as leverage. I once asked a boss for a raise in the 1970's when I first started working. He didn't give it to me but I saw the power he got from that interaction and I NEVER asked anyone for a raise ever again. If I didn't feel I was paid fairly, I quit and simply took a different job. Two reasons....its always easier to get a new job to pay you more then it is to play tug of war over your compensation package with your current employer and no one was ever going to own me or to wave a handful of dollars over my head to get me to jump. I have way too much pride for that.

The other thing that I think is important to be free of money woes is to be happy. You might live week to week as I did for decades but be happy with who you are(you should be, you alone made you, you) and be happy with the people around you. That means living somewhere where you can walk down the street at any hour, somewhere that you enjoy living, not just surviving. When you aren't afraid of someone stealing your stuff you will find peace in unlocked doors. If you choose the place you live based on the ease to work, you are not living well. A work-centered life is not a wholesome or healthy lifestyle to me.

The last thing is to be able to be completely fulfilled by what you have and ditch the "conditioned responses" that tell you to want this or that. Remember that those folks only have your money as their agenda. Sure, there are things we like and it's fun to get excited over that thing but keep it in perspective...its not the last thing you will like nor will it really make you pretty, handsome, muscular, petite or cool and it won't make people like or love you.

That's the kind of thinking that sets you free from money worries. it doesn't take more poison-money.

BTW- the contracting crew just began demolition outside! Yay!!

Don't be a consumerist!, I don't live in a fancy home, my bath towel has a couple of holes in it...would a fancy home like my brother's make me feel like I'm worth more or feel better about myself?, would new bath towel dry me off any better....NOPE, it's all in the perspective. Do my kids get taken to the Dr. once a year, YEP. Have I ever gone hungry, fortunately NOT. I paid off my home a year ago, just sent the payment for the property tax bill. I live within my means, when I retired I took a 40% pay cut. Am I happy, YEP. Do I wish I could sleep in, go on a vacation, You betcha! But it is the life I made for myself, it was easier when Penny was around, she helped out. But I have a life I made for myself...I'll continue until . . . I pop a cork (so to speak)

I live vicariously through my friends...(you), My old supervisor (Craig) who Hired me years ago sends me pictures. He is a great guy, and a wonderful Supervisor. Right now his BIL is in the hospital in Seattle. Craig is on Whidbey Island, Washington right now taking care of his BIL's ranch. He sends me pictures, and these are my escape, my trips to other places...my mini vacations....
