I bought a live tree today for our Christmas tree. Come to find out it's from Hawaii and can't stand to be colder than 50Β°. It's a dang house plant. I can't bring myself to decorate it because the little limbs are delicate and I don't want to kill another live Christmas tree πŸŽ„πŸŒ΄ 😁so I'll just decorate around it.😊IMG_20251207_180012668.jpg

Years ago, before I had my Feathered Kids, I'd put a Fresh tree in the front window, but as we got more and more feathered kids there was no room in the front of the house, and no room anywhere else for a tree. So, I just have Christmas lights up around the eve's of the house and a wreath next to the front door. May put some ornaments on the table, But that will be it...

I really like this plant. It's refreshing. Maybe I can keep it small and alive for Sapphire. He loves to sit under a small tree in his indoor enclosure. I'll have to learn bonsai.😊

Looks like it it is some sort of Fir tree...If I had to Guess
They frequently use Norfolk Island Pines for mini trees, but NIP are pretty distinctive in their growth,

I wouldn't have guessed that Christmas trees come from Hawaii.
Am i the only one to feel that must be just a glitch in the Matrix?

Good luck learning Bonsai MS Cathie....Kerry was supposed to learn how to care for a tree a gave her a few years ago. It's kinda hanging on....lol it is 13 almost 14 years old so far.

It needs to be trimmed way back but I will let it die before i touch it. I got it for her because she wanted to learn it. I do not so I won't enable "flityness" by taking over its care.

Cold here...19F. Matt is so happy to be inside. Yesterday he ate blueberries for the 1st time. He's up and about but he threatened me when i just went to take his picture at 535am.

Your little tree is beautiful anyway. I'll be watching the videos soon. Mine will have to be in a different type and style of pot if possible. Sapphire has been wanting a little tree to sit under for so long that I have to try 😊 tonight we're supposed to get high winds and snow starting. I haven't listened to the weathermen on how bad. I don't want to know!😁

Zola's dad recently found this photo of him when he was about two years old - We had obviously started taking him out with us - this is a bit of the coast near us - and I think he looks wonderfully calm and interested in his surroundings. I also think he looks very cute - I'm so proud of him - I just had to share the photo !

That's pretty cool Angie...pretty tort too!

Kerry's 5 dollar porch tree! The tree was $1.50 @ the Dollar Tree....no pun intended.

I wouldn't be able to resist that one either even for $5 at a dollar tree. 🀨😊Especially since I still don't have a decorative Christmas tree. While searching around on Google though, I did find some ideas. As it turns out you can hang your earrings on a Norfolk pine for Christmas ornaments 😁

Richard can still hold him in one hand - otherwise he wouldn't be able to take photos now -but Zola has adapted over time, and never objects !
I can hold Seymour with one hand, but not like that. I have to hold him on his plastron, and then, I would only be able to do it for 5 or 10 minutes...He's getting to be a bigger boy...
