Here's all that's left of the hummingbird, don't last, Mr Bird cake. It's made with banana, crushed pineapple, toasted pecans and a cream cheese icing. Desert is always nice isn't it no matter what it looks like 😊 I always love the frills on yours though. I wish I knew how 🤗View attachment 399119
That looks delicious Cathie but I think you mean dessert.

So yesterday at this time it was 85F outside. We did all kinds of outdoor things.
Today it's snowing!

The long range weather forecast for my area says to expect snow at the beginning of April! Meanwhile this week we'll be basking in sunshine and higher temps although we did have an unexpected hail shower in the middle of a sunny Saturday. Mother Mature certainly likes to surprise us.

I understand car troubles. Here in California we have to "Smog" our cars every 2 years (Test for emissions) My old 96 Ford ranger has been notorious for failing, 8 yrs ago, I took it in and the Technician says the car computer does not have any stored history. Take it out, drive it for about 80 miles, all different areas (City/rural) and bring it back, I did as instructed, the tech said again, No History. Poop! I took it to my auto mechanic to figure out what the problem was. Turns out the plug/electrical connection to the computer was making and breaking. Every time it broke connection the history would get erased. Cost me nearly $400/220 sterling, but it passed. 2 years ago it failed again, seems the thermostat was not functioning correctly so the temp sending unit never told the computer that the engine was up to operating temperature. Another $400/220 sterling. So Monday I took it to the shop for them to "smog" it . . . and it passed w/o any problems, YAY!
Our cars have to be tested every year to make sure they're road worthy and that includes an emission test. If it doesn't pass you can't get insurance or road tax so it would be illegal to even have the car parked on a public highway. My car has failed it's MOT the last few years for minor easily rectified things.

The whining noise turned out to be the alternator which cost me £300 to replace. Most of that was labour costs and VAT. Probably more than the rest of the car is worth, but still it's useable and I've been able to take my nephew out and about looking for furniture he needs for his flat. Hopefully it will be ok for a while longer.

Isn't it lovely to have a little dog visiting 🤗. Mr Fre likes to sit on my lap. He's like a little doggy blanket and warms me up. I'll 🤞 with you too that fixing your car doesn't cost much. Hopefully a belt.
It was lovely to have Alfie here. We didn't have as many walks as usual thanks to a few days of heavy rain and things to do for my nephew, but he was good company.
He went home again on Saturday and I miss him curled up to me.

Well, I had a crappy night, Woodie my lil Terrier who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last june, has been doing very well. We had a follow up appointment with his internist, last week, and she was so happy with his turnaround. Last couple of days, he has lost some energy, and is breathing faster. Last night we all went to bed, he was breathing 45 to 50 BPM, and labored. I got up @ 11pm, and took him to the Emergency, got home at 1am. They put him in a oxygen kennel, and were giving him MORE diuretics, estimate was for $4400 to $7700. Left him there over night after saying my "I love you's", and "see you in the morning". Got a call from the hospital, he has not really responded to the diuretics, and still has breathing problem. They have to be careful about the diuretics, as it can help the heart, but also hurt the liver. I think it is getting to the point where I will have to tell my love . . . I'll see you soon, 😭View attachment 399052
I am so sorry to hear this. What a handsome boy he is. I'm almost to worried to read on. But I hope he's rallied.

We are supposed to get some whacky weather today along the Atlantic Coast.
It's warm at 66f this morning but breezy. We seem to be fairly well protected here at the Nook but there's a lot of exposed farmers up the road so I hope it's not too bad.

We went to a St Patrick's day party on Sat. Those Irish get half drunk every year and lite a huge fire....and that's the chicks!

Right?
These gals don't mess around but Nancy is "anti-gasoline" so we know there's room for improvement on the fire size! LOL

It's a good group and it's always good for me to be around people once in a while so Kerry takes me out.

Im glad i got out before the rain to get Matt some goodies from the forest. It's that small rain....10 zillion tiny drops. I call it Hurricane-rain.

Enjoy the day guys....
The Irish only get half drunk in America? They go the whole hog in Ireland!!! Must be all that Guinness.

Good evening everyone!

I had a bit of sad news in that a friend who was diagnosed with a brain tumour a year ago has passed away. She was in a nursing home and now she is free of pain and is flying high.

Natrah

💔❤️🙏
So sorry for the loss of your friend, but you have a lovely way of describing her release. Sometimes it's a blessing to know they aren't suffering anymore.

A very early good morning to you all. I woke up at 3.30 ish so thought I'd use the time to catch up.
Pleased to see you're all ticking along well.
My thoughts are with Marsha and Woodie, I hope he's continuing to improve..
Ray's not been popping in much lately I hope he's ok. Any news from him @jeff kushner?
Well I suppose I should try to get some more sleep now, so I'll see you all soon. Take care.

Here the yearly tests are only for cars that are over 10 years old. When a car is first registered, it will be tested after 4 years. After that first test, the car will need to be tested every 2 years (up until the car turns 10 years old). But cars that are over 40 years old have to be tested only every 2 years. Don't ask me why!

you're welcome.

Ray has been under the weather for a couple days. He was supposed to call yesterday but wasn't quite there yet I guess.
When I don't sleep for extended periods of time, it can make you think things which might not be accurate. I often will feel that my kids don't love me....that kind of wierd thinking- paranoia. I don't know but i suspect my buddy goes through similar feelings and thoughts?
I'll holler at him later today.

With the repeal of the " endangerment rule" lawsuits are being prepared to give reparations to taxpayers for emission testing in States that used it as justification. Who da thunk....i finally heard "reparations" used in a context that doesn't make the author look like an idiot. LOL

I saw Dr Chiro yesterday. My hip has been really bad and limiting even walking. It began last summer and has only gotten worse. He needled the bursa sacs(I think) after he laid hands on my hips and felt something wrong. The needles hurt...no, ached all day but it's much better this morning. We'll see but i trust him.

I love pepper jelly. I use it with cream cheese and crackers. Or bake it in thumbprint butter cookies. Or anyway I can think of to eat it. I found a great deal on one at my favorite grocery store marked down so low I couldn't say no. It was sooo good and comes in a cute jar so I had to save it of course. It will make a great jar for storage 😊of herbs or something or another. Homemade jelly or even a Christmas present with homemade hot chocolate mix. Anyway it's going to be my go to store bought jelly from the store from now on.😁IMG_20260318_145856435.jpg

Half drunk in America means you're not done yet on Saint Patty's Day 😉. Most bars serve green beer. A lot of cities offer free city bus rides for the party goers too. A city not far away from me has the doo daa parade every year. Most people are wearing their green unless they forgot. They deserve a pinch for that just to wake em up.😊

By needles I'm assuming acupuncture? Maybe that could help me without Prednisone shots. I'd rather do that if possible. Hope you feel better for a long time. 🙏

And hopefully Ray calls. I've been thinking of him all day. Send him and family a hello from me if you talk to him. Thanks if you do.
