Cef, thanks for your concern about Matt. Matt has already suffered a Rat attack and it began to eat through his shell front to back like a can opener about 3 years ago. With help from Maggie here he got better. He has a 3/4" "relief" in his shell right in the middle now. He can raise his head like that one Gallop tort species.

We guard against intruders to his enclosure with mousetraps which are incredibly good at it without really hurting any of our friends. Animals like Racoons or opossums hate anything that can hurt their fingers since they make their living with them. So they quickly learned to stay away and even their young don't explore there ....they must be learning from mom. Rats are much harder to control so frankly I just delete them if they come around. I have zero remorse. They simply choose poorly.

Good morning everyone!

It's better today.

Natrah
I had a heck of a time getting on here today. I have no clue what's going on. But We could have had completely different issues after all yours was yesterday 😉🙃. Also my phone is acting up. Keeps trying to make me install a different lock screen security. All kinds of little idiotic tantrums. Like not letting me open the clock app on my phone. The rooster alarm could barely get a croke out before the phone shut off the app. My daily alarms for Joe and Sapphire are there. So I had to figure out how to get the clock working again. Dumb phone 🤳

Hope you've not got hackers trying to control your phone. Don't download any apps you're not sure of, Cathie.

Good morning all.
It's quite humid here today.
I don't think we've any more rain to come for the next week or so and there's amber warnings for heat from the middle of next week with temps up to 90F 🥵. I hope this is just a short heatwave🤞
I'll be making sure to leave dishes of water around the street for the hedgehogs and birds. I was talking to some new people in the street a few days ago and they are keen to help the hedgehogs too, so it's great to find some like minded neighbours.
My nasty neighbours seem to be away at the moment so it's been lovely to enjoy a quiet week. I suppose it's too much to hope that they've emigrated?🙏
I'd better go and try to finish some garden work - I won't be out there as it gets hotter. Hope everyone has a good weekend. TTFN.

Dear Marsha, @MenagerieGrl,

Dutch Cottage Rayleigh UK. Parts of Rayleigh date back to the time of King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn.

Thank you Natrah for the Photo, and a lil bit of the history.
I Google Earth pictures you send. That is such a cute cottage, and quite small, I'd say. All the houses on that street look so meticulously cared for, many beautiful homes and yards.
Queen Anne Boleyn, sure had a short life, and as queen, the poor dear died when she was only about 30ish, such a short life, and to die such a violent death. Was she really considered "treasonous" or was she just a scape goat...and need to be removed...how is she thought of by "people on the street".

I don't think she was treacherous but unfortunately in those days someone high only had to open their mouth and the accused was condemned. Even Jane Seymour started to have doubts but Henry tried to convince her that Anne was guilty.

And talk about the pot calling the kettle black, HE was a philanderer. Eh, but that's ok for the "Testosterone Males" . . . just being guys.

I heard a horrible fact on tv about AB's death the other day. One of the Beefeaters at the Tower of London was telling a crowd that as she was beheaded she was praying and when they lifted her head her eyes were open and her lips were still moving..... the cut was so clean and quick her brain hadn't registered it had been severed. At least it wasn't a painful death but how horrible is that!? People do terrible things to each other.
