It has been extremely hot here. 81F, and very windy - thunderstorms predicted overnight -but Zola was keen to have his walk on the breakwater as usual - he was very tired when he got back, and his dad was wilting a bit too. I think it is supposed to be getting cooler very soon though. Tomorrow Richard is due to have some major work done by the dentist, and I am almost envying him, as I expect they will have air-conditioning there !

I thought they would have air conditioning at my surgery when I inquired about my next blood test but I'm afraid they didn't. It was 27 degrees Celsius here.

Dear Lyn,

I am now at the shop with the fan and air con but here are this morning's temps which Jacky has bee

I was shopping by 6.30 this morning to beat the heat. It was heaven in Tesco and Aldi with their air con. I was tempted to buy a folding chair and a magazine and stay for the day! 😀
Your country's heat wave has finally made the morning News around here.wow. I hope your promised relief comes quicker than expected.🙏

Ya, just take it easy @Lyn W . I heard they were setting heat records in France.
Jeff, just remember . . .it's the journey, not the destination, well maybe part of the destination....It's always nice to be back home...

I'm waiting for the thunderstorms too, I hope there's plenty of rain with them to clear the air a bit. The wildlife will appreciate it too.
It seems shops have been very busy the last few days as people flock to enjoy the a/c 😄
However, I can't believe that even in my nephew's new block of flats with all sorts of super duper heating and air technology that cost millions, they haven't installed a/c. 🙄
Rather a big oversight I think especially as they are built for older people who have all sorts of medical problems. He's just bought a new fan to keep him cool.

They said today it was going to last longer than expected. Temps will drop tomorrow but it will still be around 80f for the next couple of days.
The snow gritters which we only usually see during the winter are on standby for emergency repairs as the tarmac on roads melts. Hopefully that's not too big a problem. The UK needs to start facing up to reality and prepare for more frequent heat waves.

It is I guess a matter of where you live. 81°f is usually comfortable for me. I start getting a chill below 78. We're supposed to heat up around here next week. So I have mixed feelings. Around here we really do need the 90's for the growing season. Sapphire gets out but I don't. That's way to hot for me. I'm hoping all of you across the pond get the expected cool down soon though. Heat waves are a nightmare.

The news I saw about Europe and the heat waves was really sad. They reported that Europe was heating up faster from global warming than anywhere else in the world. I don't know if I believe that but... Anywhere that heat waves happen can be devastating

28 degrees Celsius here at the moment.
Same here. The temps have dropped but it's still way out of my comfort zone. I thought the rain we had in the night would clear the air but there's not much of a breeze so it's still very stuffy. Still the temps are heading in the right direction so very grateful for that. 😀

Yeah you guys are spending a little time in Hades. What did you DO! Sorry it's not funny, im just an azz.
The lady who we gave our temp AC unit to a bit ago sent us a picture while we were in Alabama of her contractors installing her new mini-split systems! Very neat for her. I wish we could sent the unit to you gals to use!

Journeys for me have evolved over time MG and now are like "classrooms, the extended version". But we all know home is tops and we got home at 130 in the morning. Was there any doubt?

I have to share;
Kerry makes a horrible front seat passenger, just terrible. She rides with a pillow to cover her face while screaming like an old shrew every time I take my eyes off the road! Shrew I tell you....😅😅 We will have to work on this.
She likes to drive and cries like a baby when she doesn't get her way...jeez. We put 3200 miles on the car, I drove 350 total miles....i just can't handle any more of her "shrewness" than 350 miles worth!😁😁 I actually don't mind a bit being chauffeured by a pretty girl all the time but once in a while i need to flex. LOL

Great trip, great graduation, great to see in-laws Dino & Diane, great to see Ray and Rose along with Nana, Sully and Opo, great weather, great people, great experiences along the way and great God we're broke!

Enjoy the day guys

Dear Lyn,

It is 31 degrees Celsius this evening and I've just come home on a train with no air con!

Natrah
Just trying to decide whether I've done well to go to Rayleigh in this heat in my sixties or whether it was a bit silly!
