Confused with new TFO Site

I would like to know if the "Conversation" thread is the same as the pm's used to be? If I start a conversation with someone, are they the only ones who can see it. It took me forever to find them to even begin the thread. I have been on here a few times, but this is going to take some getting used to .

Conversations are the same as PM's different name same idea. You can have multiple people in one conversation if you wish, or just that special someone.

How do I get to a conversation that I've started with someone? And how would I know if someone started one with me?

Top of the screen next to alerts, the inbox.

Until you click on 'leave conversation' all of your conversations show up in your 'in box'. If someone has sent you a convo, a little red #1 shows up next to the 'in box.' Also, if you're really paying attention, it will flash on the lower left corner of the screen that someone has started a convo with you.
