I went to a reptile show today and couldn't resist getting another tortoise. This one is a Cherry Head.

I gave him a soak when I got home. He drank lots of water. Then he pooped and peed.

I weighed him at 30 grams and is 2 inches long. He was hatched 2 weeks ago. He still has an egg tooth, but his yolk is completely absorbed.

As soon as I put him next to the food plate he dived right in. He is not afraid of me and is rather active in my presence. (Dexter tends to be shy, but I love him still.)

My new tort is named Rammus. :)

Yes, they are hard to resist when they are this small. I some how missed seeing him when I looked at every booth the first time. I wanted to look everyone over one more time before leaving and that is when he caught my eye.

But there were many others I looked at and none caught my attention enough to have to have. I felt sorry for some who were already showing signs of pyramiding and were only a year old or younger. That made me sad. :(

Funny how this is the first time EVER I have seen Dexter in the water bowl. And here is Rammus looking at him.

Nice! Was it the show in Tampa? I was there also!

Yes, I was there from 12-2 ish. Did you have a booth or were you browsing?

So the 4 inch rule only applies to NY? I'm just asking because there is a reptile expo tomorrow nearby me...

The four inch rule applies everywhere, but not to everyone. Hobbyist are not included, only businesses, and even then the rule is not usually enforced at expos.
